The Owners - Dan and Sarah

Dan Reynolds and Sarah Reynolds  journey began about 12 years ago. Both were realtors at the time dipping their toes fresh into the real estate market.
Upon meeting, an immediate connection was struck. It was as if two became one and an instant team was born.

Dan, entrepreneur, 55 years of age, was born and raised in Las Vegas. Dan proudly served his country for 6 years in the Army and is the father of 4 children. His son Nick is head chef at The Tavern and also one of his best friends. Dan grew up on the construction site with his grandpa acting as a sponge learning every trade he could. There is no task too big or small. Dan is a natural born leader and solution thinker who always finds a win in any situation. He was greatly inspired by his mother who taught him the importance of integrity and  shaped him into the extraordinary leader he has become today.

Sarah, 37, was born and raised in a small town in southwest Virginia. She grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. Her late grandfather owned Mouldings Inc, a company who manufactured prefabricated wood mouldings across the Unites Sates for mobile homes in the late 60s. Her uncles, retired, owned a NASCAR racing team very successful in the 90s. Her supportive and creative mind balances the directive leader in Dan. They communicate in such a way that they eagerly welcome any challenge brought their way. Coming from a scotch Irish heritage, family and friends are most important to her and always come first.

Dan and Sarah’s love of travel had always sparked the idea of owning a bar. They talked about it for years until one day they decided to just go for it. They wanted to create a safe place where people could come and have a good time. Dan and Sarah take pride in the fact that The Tavern is a family owned and operated bar. They named their bar after one of their favorite restaurants in Virginia that is also called The Tavern. It is the oldest building in the town of Abingdon built in 1779. This historical building was originally a tavern and stagecoach inn for travelers. Being from Virginia the name of The Tavern felt like home and that is what they wanted to create for customers. A comfortable home away from home.
